Mary Millben, a prominent African-American Hollywood actress and singer said that the inclusion of African Union as a full member of the G20 is “historic”.
She added, “Today is a historic day for India and a historic day for the world.” Earlier, she lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his proposal to include the African Union as a full member of the G20, a move supported by the US.
The singer also sang ‘Om Jai Jagdish Hare’ after a special request made by India Today News Director Rahul Kanwal. Millben sang India’s national anthem ‘Jana Gana Mana’ at an event in June in the US during the prime minister’s visit.
